Guitar Hero III
Jaime and I bought Guitar Hero III for the Playstation 3 Sunday. Instead of a Saturday night release, Gamestop opened here an hour early. It was surprising to see the store was not as busy as I thought it would be, I was in and out. After the mass following of the first two, I figured I would have to wait.
It took me about 20 minutes to hook up the new guitar to the adapter they package in the box, though I'm not sure if this was faulty instructions or user error.
The game is pretty kick-ass and the levels also seem to be more difficult. This can be a good thing if you want a challenge, but bad if you like to pick up the fake guitar and shred right away.
Jaime is still battling the devil on easy, I've passed medium and just starting hard. The most enjoyable songs I have found so far are "When You Were Young" by the Killers and "One" by Metallica, which is pure agony the first few times. Once you get the hang of it, it's not too bad.
Is it worth the 100 bucks I forked over for it? Depends. If the makers back up the game with some nice downloadable content, then definitely. If not, I'm sure I'll get sick of playing the same songs in a couple of months.
